Steve and I watched a show on Netflix called Salt Fat Acid Heat, and it wasn’t long after that that this cookbook showed up at our doorstep. Samin Nosrat doesn’t treat the four part series like a cooking show. It’s about the technique and theory behind each of the four elements that turn something from good to great.
We use the book for reference and the first thing we tried was the roasted buttermilk chicken.

Samin Nosrat’s cookbook Salt Fat Acid Heat, has some great tips but not a lot of pictures of finished meals. If that’s what you’re looking for, this might not be the best pick for you. I love how simply Samin explains the technique and theory behind the ingredients and methods though. The cute cartoons help to demonstrate.
This feels more text book than cookbook, and we could easily see it being used as a reference book for a cooking school or class. We highly recommend the show on Netflix and aren’t sorry to have added this one to the collection!
