Pretty pink Strawberry Lemonade Sangria will brighten any afternoon! Serve it to your friends and they get a drink and a boozy snack all in one. Whey do you think people love Sangria so much? Using Strawberry Lemonade gives you that hint of sweetness without having to add a ton of sugar. It’s not exactly traditional, but it sure is a crowd pleaser!
As soon as the weather starts to get warm here in the Midwest, I buy lemonade. There is something about it that screams summer to me. I know you can get it anytime of year, but for me it’s just a summer drink. You can get all kinds of mixed fruit lemonade now, and truthfully just about any one of them would work in a Sangria For our Strawberry Lemonade Sangria we used Strawberry Lemonade, of course!
Don’t feel like you have to use the fruit that I list below. If you’ve got fruit in the fridge or on the counter that needs to be used you can probably throw it in….with maybe the exception of bananas! Instead of lemonade, use orange or mango juice and put in sliced oranges, chunks of mangos, or peaches. Use red wine and add cherries, blueberries, and raspberries.
Choosing your wine
Don’t use expensive wine here. Seriously, don’t. You’re going to add juice/lemonade and soda water and fruit. Grab your 2 Buck Chuck or Aldi special (or dig out that bottle someone gave you at a party sometime you swore you’d never use) and dump it in the pitcher. Taste a little first though, so you know how sweet it is. Adjust your fruit juice/lemonade and soda ratio to balance the sweetness or acidity of your wine. If it’s super sweet, cut back the juice and add more soda water. If it’s a little acidic add more juice and less soda.
Strawberry Lemonade Sangria is just one variation you can make. Change the wine, juice, and fruit and you have a whole new cocktail to enjoy! Find the mix that you love best or just spend the summer experimenting. Either way, you can’t go wrong.
